85th Fighter Group reactivates at Ebbing ANGB for F-35A FMS mission
EBBING AIR NATIONAL GUARD BASE, Ark — The 33rd Fighter Wing reactivated the 85th Fighter Group and 57th Fighter Squadron and simultaneously deactivated Detachment 1 during a ceremony here July 2. Col. Nicholas Ihde assumed command of the 85th FG and Lt. Col. Jonathan Hassell assumed command of the 57th FS during the ceremony, marking an important step forward to the unit’s efforts to build early operational capability for countries participating in the F-35A and Republic of Singapore Air Force F-16 FMS process.

US humanitarian aid for Honduras tops 6 million pounds with Denton Program
SOTO CANO AIR BASE, Honduras (AFNS) — A KC-46A Pegasus from the 931st Air Refueling Wing, McConnell Air Force Base, Kansas, delivered 12 pallets of cargo for the Denton Program at Soto Cano Air Base, May 8. The Denton Program is a Department of Defense humanitarian assistance transportation program that moves humanitarian cargo, donated by United States-based non-governmental organizations to countries in need.

DSCA Announces Launch of DSCU’s Young Institute
Arlington, VA — On April 29, 2024, the Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) officially launched the Brigadier General Charles Young Research, Analysis, and Lessons Learned Institute within the Defense Security Cooperation University (DSCU), one of five offices reporting to the Director of DSCA. The DSCU Young Institute serves the security cooperation enterprise through research, critical inquiry, and scholarship that advances the knowledge and practice of security cooperation.

Secretary Austin and Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani Discuss Ongoing U.S.-Iraqi Security Cooperation
On April 15, 2014 at the Pentagon, Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin III welcomed Iraqi Prime Minister Mohamed Shia al-Sudani during his first visit to Washington, D.C. as Prime Minister. The Secretary and the Prime Minister affirmed the two nations' commitment to an enduring U.S.-Iraq bilateral defense relationship and to a strong Iraq, capable of self-defense in support of a more stable and peaceful region. The Prime Minister of the Republic of Iraq and the Secretary of Defense discussed ongoing U.S.-Iraqi security cooperation, joint efforts to address persistent security threats to the United States and Iraq, and the future of the Global Coalition to Defeat ISIS mission in Iraq.
