TSC delegation strengthens international security cooperation at Arctic Frontiers 2024

In a resolute effort to advance the objectives outlined in the National Strategy for the Arctic Region, members of the Ted Stevens Center for Arctic Security Studies converged at Arctic Frontiers 2024 in Tromsø, Norway, from Jan. 28 to Feb. 1, 2024. This strategic gathering served as a pivotal platform for the TSC delegation to engage in panel discussions, breakout group events, and networking sessions, all aimed at fostering collaborative relationships among military and civilian security practitioners, directly supporting the strategic vision outlined in the National Strategy for the Arctic Region.

Maj. Gen. Matthew McFarlane, the deputy commanding general of America’s First Corps, visits with leaders of the Ted Stevens Center for Arctic Security Studies on Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska, Feb. 21, 2024. McFarlane toured the future TSC facility and met with TSC leadership to discuss ways to collaborate to advance security priorities in the Arctic region.

DSCA Releases FY 2023 Security Assistance Accounts Agency Financial Report

The Defense Security Cooperation Agency has published the FY 2023 Security Assistance Accounts (SAA) Agency Financial Report (AFR). It can be found here: https://www.dsca.mil/resources/reports. The report highlights key financial information and includes the SAA’s audit report.  It also provides an overview of the mission, structure, goals, and operations of the SAA. It promotes transparency by providing the U.S. Department of the Treasury, the U.S. Office of Management and Budget, the Congress, and the general public a view into SAA financial statements, business processes, and results of the audit.

Colonel Elizabeth F. Allen becomes the New Director of DIILS

Colonel Elizabeth F. Allen, Judge Advocate General’s Corps, U.S. Army, assumed the directorship of the Defense Institute of International Legal Studies (DIILS) September 29, 2023, at Naval Station Newport, Rhode Island, in a ceremony officiated by Dr. Celeste Gventer, Defense Security Cooperation University President. Colonel Allen is the 14th Director of DIILS.
