U.S. and Montenegro strengthen security cooperation relationship
The United States Office of Defense Cooperation (ODC) in Montenegro prides itself as being able to offer a full spectrum of opportunities through the full package approach concept, all the while supporting the United States focus of being the leader of Strategic Competition. Recently, ODC Montenegro added a new permanent Foreign Military Finance (FMF) / Foreign Military Sales (FMS) Program Manager to their team, increasing their overall office size; further demonstrating the United States commitment and dedication to its Partner and the NATO strategic mission.

The Institute for Security Governance (ISG) was honored to host Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) Director Heidi Grant and a delegation from DSCA last week (22-24 June 2021) at ISG headquarters in Monterey, CA. The Director was accompanied by Defense Security Cooperation University (DSCU) Acting President David Sobyra, as well as DSCA Senior Enlisted Advisor to the Director CMSgt Daniel Simpson and DSCA Senior Military Assistant to the Director Col Malcolm Pharr.

U.S. Army Security Assistance Command holds Change of Command ceremony
REDSTONE ARSENAL, Ala. — REDSTONE ARSENAL, Alabama – The U.S. Army Security Assistance Command has a new commanding general. Brig. Gen. Garrick Harmon assumed command of USASAC during a ceremony on May 17 on the parade field outside USASAC headquarters.
Guatemala, Arkansas National Guard partnership growing together
North Little Rock, Ark. — The Arkansas National Guard and its State Partnership Program counterpart, Guatemala, resumed face-to-face exchanges May 12-15 here after a year of virtual exchanges due to the Covid-19 coronavirus pandemic. Led by Maj. Gen. Walfre Omar Carranza Espana, the Guatemalan chief of defense, the six-person delegation toured Arkansas National Guard facilities at Robinson Maneuver Training Center in North Little Rock, Ark., and the 189th Airlift Wing at Little Rock Air Force Base in Jacksonville, Ark.

U.S. Government Strengthens Jamaica’s Field Hospital Response
On April 30, Brigadier General Alcides Faria, the U.S. Army South Deputy Commanding General for Interoperability, toured the USG funded mobile field hospital currently deployed in Spanish Town, St. Catherine, along with State Minister, Ministry of Health and Wellness, The Hon. Juliet Cuthbert-Flynn. This field hospital is the first of what will be three mobile field hospitals donated by the United States Government to the Government and people of Jamaica.
