U.S. Embassy Sofia Helps Bulgaria Welcome its First F-16

Bulgaria’s first F-16 landed on Wednesday afternoon at the Third Fighter Air Base at Graf Ignatievo. With Prime Minister Rossen Jeliazkov, Defense Minister Atanas Zapryanov, Chief of Defense Admiral Emil Eftimov, and U.S. Chargé D’Affaires Susan Falatko in attendance, the aircraft touched down at 14:29. The aircraft had departed the Lockheed Martin assembly facility in Greenville, South Carolina, on March 31. A Tennessee State Air National Guard KC-135 tanker provided aerial refueling services en route, with representatives of the Tennessee National Guard – Bulgaria’s counterpart in the State Partnership Program – on board the tanker.

2024 Security Cooperation Conference: Building Lasting Partnerships

The Defense Security Cooperation Agency’s (DSCA) directorate, the Defense Security Cooperation University (DSCU) facilitated the third Security Cooperation (SC) Conference, titled “Building Lasting Partnerships: What Have We Learned?” October 28–30, 2024, at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center in Washington, DC. Approximately 450 security cooperation policymakers, scholars, and practitioners convened to bridge scholarship and practical knowledge, aiding the security cooperation workforce to work more effectively and sustainably with allies and partners.

Certification 2.0 Official Launch

The Defense Security Cooperation Agency’s Defense Security Cooperation University (DSCU) is pleased to announce the next stage of the phased launch of the U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) Security Cooperation Workforce (SCW) Certification 2.0 Program. As of October 1, 2024, SCW members can map their Certification 2.0 course requirements by registering for fiscal year (FY) 2025 DSCU courses.
