Poland Visit Underscores U.S. Role in Building Apache Fleet

During a recent trip to Poland, DSCA Director Mike Miller supported Assistant Secretary of War for International Security Affairs Daniel Zimmerman’s discussions with Polish Ministry of National Defense officials regarding the robust U.S.-Poland defense and security relationship. Miller accompanied Assistant Secretary Zimmerman on a visit with the U.S. service members of Task Force Viper.

The director also met separately with Deputy Minister of National Defense Pawel Bejda for focused discussions regarding Poland’s large and growing Foreign Military Sales (FMS) portfolio. This was an important meeting with one of DSCA’s largest FMS partners.

During the Nov. 19 engagement, Zimmerman toured a static display of the 3rd Combat Aviation Brigade’s helicopter and unmanned platforms. Poland is set to receive 96 AH-64E Apache helicopters, making the country one of the largest operators of these aircraft in the world, second only to the United States.
