US humanitarian aid for Honduras tops 6 million pounds with Denton Program

A KC-46A Pegasus from the 931st Air Refueling Wing, McConnell Air Force Base, Kansas, delivered 12 pallets of cargo for the Denton Program at Soto Cano Air Base, May 8. The Denton Program is a Department of Defense humanitarian assistance transportation program that moves humanitarian cargo, donated by United States-based non-governmental organizations to countries in need.

DSCA Announces Launch of DSCU’s Young Institute

On April 29, 2024, the Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) officially launched the Brigadier General Charles Young Research, Analysis, and Lessons Learned Institute within the Defense Security Cooperation University (DSCU), one of five offices reporting to the Director of DSCA. The DSCU Young Institute serves the security cooperation enterprise through research, critical inquiry, and scholarship that advances the knowledge and practice of security cooperation.

A football team cannot have the receivers running routes the quarterback doesn't expect, nor can linemen block just whomever they want. Secretary Austin and Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani Discuss Ongoing U.S.-Iraqi Security Cooperation

On April 15, 2014 at the Pentagon, Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin III welcomed Iraqi Prime Minister Mohamed Shia al-Sudani during his first visit to Washington, D.C. as Prime Minister. The Secretary and the Prime Minister affirmed the two nations' commitment to an enduring U.S.-Iraq bilateral defense relationship and to a strong Iraq, capable of self-defense in support of a more stable and peaceful region. The Prime Minister of the Republic of Iraq and the Secretary of Defense discussed ongoing U.S.-Iraqi security cooperation, joint efforts to address persistent security threats to the United States and Iraq, and the future of the Global Coalition to Defeat ISIS mission in Iraq.

The Office of Weapons Removal and Abatement in the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Political-Military Affairs (PM/WRA) has just unveiled the 2024 annual report, "To Walk the Earth in Safety." This report showcases the impactful efforts of U.S. conventional weapons destruction programs in aiding communities affected by explosive remnants of war to recover and rebuild.
