U.S. Government Strengthens Jamaica’s Field Hospital Response

On April 30, Brigadier General Alcides Faria, the U.S. Army South Deputy Commanding General for Interoperability, toured the USG funded mobile field hospital currently deployed in Spanish Town, St. Catherine, along with State Minister, Ministry of Health and Wellness, The Hon. Juliet Cuthbert-Flynn. This field hospital is the first of what will be three mobile field hospitals donated by the United States Government to the Government and people of Jamaica.

What people don’t typically see is all of the behind-the-scenes work done by the Air Force Security Assistance and Cooperation Directorate (AFSAC) within the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center, to develop an FMS case.

Air-to-Air Missiles Program Office hits new milestone

NAVAL AIR SYSTEMS COMMAND, PATUXENT RIVER, Md. - The Air-to-Air Missiles Program Office (PMA-259) International Programs team has reached a first-time Foreign Military Sales (FMS) portfolio value of $3 Billion for 34 countries and two NATO member countries. The United Arab Emirates (UAE), an existing international partner, finalized an agreement with the U.S. this March to procure the F-35 Lightning II, Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) aircraft and requested additional AIM-9X Block II+ missiles for external carriage on the JSF.

459th teams with Denton Program for humanitarian mission

The 459th Air Refueling Wing recently teamed with the Denton Program to deliver donated laptops to underprivileged children in The Bahamas. The purpose of the Denton Program is to allow U.S. based non-governmental sources to transport humanitarian aid at little or no cost to the donor while simultaneously putting extra space on U.S. military transport assets to good use.

NAVSUP WSS Hosts DSCA Director at Joint Consolidation Point Mechanicsburg

Naval Supply Systems Command Weapon Systems Support (NAVSUP WSS) hosted Defense Security Cooperation Agency director Heidi Grant, April 20, at the Joint Consolidation Point in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. Grant met with NAVSUP WSS's Vice Commander Lynn Kohl, Deputy Commander for Ships and Subs Capt. David Carnal, Logistics Projects Office Director Scott Aughenbaugh and others before touring the JCP, which operates as the primary consolidation and transportation activity for Building Partner Capacity efforts with foreign nations to improve their ability to achieve security-oriented goals they share with the United States.

U.S. Donates USD $3.5 Million in COVID-Relief Supplies

Today, U.S. Southern Command Admiral Craig S. Faller led a ceremony in Buenos Aires to donate three field hospitals to Argentina on behalf of the Department of Defense, in support of our joint effort to combat COVID-19. Argentina’s Minister of Health, Carla Vizzotti, and Minister of Defense, Agustín Rossi, also participated in the ceremony.

U.S. government funds COVID-19 isolation clinics across Botswana

The United States government through the Department of Defense’s Office of Security Cooperation (OSC) provided P18.7 million to build COVID-19 isolation clinics across Botswana. This Overseas Humanitarian, Disaster, and Civic Aid (OHDACA) funded project is aimed at strengthening Botswana’s COVID-19 response.
