U.S. Humanitarian Assistance Arrives in Bogoso-Apiate

Apiate, Western Region, Ghana – The U.S. Embassy together with Ghana’s National Disaster Management Office (NADMO) delivered urgently needed humanitarian relief supplies to the Apiate community near Bogoso yesterday.  The U.S. Department of Defense’s Overseas Humanitarian, Disaster Assistance, and Civic Aid program funded the supplies, including clothing, medical supplies, drinking water, blankets and mattresses, personal hygiene items, and food and cooking utensils.

70th Annual Operation Christmas Drop kicks off Dec. 6 in Guam

ANDERSEN AIR FORCE BASE, Guam - U.S. and partner nation Airmen are set to participate in the Department of Defense’s longest running humanitarian assistance training mission out of Andersen Air Force Base, Guam, beginning Dec. 6 ChST. Operation Christmas Drop, or OCD, is an annual U.S. Air Force tradition of packaging and delivering food, tools and clothing to more than 55 remote islands in the South-Eastern Pacific, including the Federated States of Micronesia, and the Republic of Palau.

U.S. Government Strengthens Jamaica’s Field Hospital Response

On April 30, Brigadier General Alcides Faria, the U.S. Army South Deputy Commanding General for Interoperability, toured the USG funded mobile field hospital currently deployed in Spanish Town, St. Catherine, along with State Minister, Ministry of Health and Wellness, The Hon. Juliet Cuthbert-Flynn. This field hospital is the first of what will be three mobile field hospitals donated by the United States Government to the Government and people of Jamaica.
