Signing of FMF Direct Loan

On September 25, 2024, the United States proudly completed the signing of a $920 million Foreign Military Financing direct loan with our ally and partner, Romania. Romania is an anchor of stability along NATO’s eastern flank and Black Sea region and steadfast support of equipping and training Ukrainian forces. We stand with Romania as they commit to ambitious defense modernization goals that serve to enhance NATO’s security. The United States looks forward to continuing our partnership and working together on programs this loan may support.

TSC’s Arctic Fellowship program prepares future leaders for Arctic challenges and opportunities

In its inaugural year, the Ted Stevens Center’s Arctic Fellowship program is aimed at cultivating a cadre of security practitioners with a nuanced understanding of Arctic security dynamics. The program, in partnership with the University of Alaska, is designed to equip military leaders with the expertise required to navigate the complex geopolitical and geophysical landscape of the Arctic.

DSCA Birthday Message from the Secretary of Defense

The Honorable Lloyd Austin, the Secretary of Defense, shared taped remarks congratulating DSCA on its 50th anniversary.  He thanked DSCA for half a century of enabling the United States and U.S. Allies and our partner nations for building a united front and extending our mutual strength against all adversaries.  Secretary Austin cited our recent support of Ukraine using Security Cooperation programs.

459th teams with Denton Program for humanitarian mission

The 459th Air Refueling Wing recently teamed with the Denton Program to deliver donated laptops to underprivileged children in The Bahamas. The purpose of the Denton Program is to allow U.S. based non-governmental sources to transport humanitarian aid at little or no cost to the donor while simultaneously putting extra space on U.S. military transport assets to good use.
