United States Turns Over Four Cessna Planes to Philippine Navy

Manila, February 11, 2022—On February 10, the United States turned over four Cessna 172 Skylark planes to the Philippine Naval Air Wing based in Sangley Point, Cavite as part of a Php298.1 million ($5.8 million) grant under the Foreign Military Financing (FMF) program. 

The Cessna planes will be used to train new naval aviators, as well as to maintain the capabilities of current pilots and the technical expertise of aviation mechanics. 

The Philippines – AIM-9X Sidewinder Block II Tactical Missiles

WASHINGTON, June 24, 2021 - The State Department has made a determination approving a possible Foreign Military Sale to the Government of the Philippines of AIM-9X Sidewinder Block II Tactical Missiles and related equipment for an estimated cost of $42.4 million. The Defense Security Cooperation Agency delivered the required certification notifying Congress of this possible sale today.

The Philippines – AGM-84L-1 Harpoon Air Launched Block II Missiles

WASHINGTON, June 24, 2021 - The State Department has made a determination approving a possible Foreign Military Sale to the Government of the Philippines of AGM-84L-1 Harpoon Air Launched Block II Missiles and related equipment for an estimated cost of $120 million. The Defense Security Cooperation Agency delivered the required certification notifying Congress of this possible sale today.

Philippines – AH-1Z Attack Helicopters and Related Equipment and Support

WASHINGTON, April 30, 2020 - The State Department has made a determination approving a possible Foreign Military Sale to the Government of the Philippines of six (6) AH-1Z attack helicopters and related equipment for an estimated cost of $450 million. The Defense Security Cooperation Agency delivered the required certification notifying Congress of this possible sale today.

“We are currently monitoring Typhoon Haiyan and its impact,” Little said.
