The U.S. Army Security Assistance Command’s delivery of the latest tranche of M4A1 rifles arrived in Dakar, Senegal Jan. 21, providing partner capacity for counterterrorism efforts.
The delivery of weapons is part of a foreign military sales effort that will include shipments of M4A1 rifles and accessories expected over the next couple of years.

A new "term of sale" opens the doors to more nations that want to approach the United States about foreign military sales, and that makes the U.S. more competitive in seeking partnerships, the director of the Defense Security Cooperation Agency said.
WASHINGTON (May 20, 2017) – President Trump and Saudi King Salman signed a nearly $110 billion defense capabilities package in a significant expansion of the more than seven-decade long security relationship between the United States and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
These capabilities will be conveyed via Foreign Military Sales (FMS) Letters of Offer and Acceptance (LOA). Potential future defense capabilities are detailed in a Memorandum of Intent (MOI) to support Saudi Arabia's defense needs.
