Egypt – Personnel Support Services

WASHINGTON, Jul 3, 2014 – The State Department has made a determination approving a possible Foreign Military Sale to Egypt for personnel support services and associated equipment, parts, training and logistical support for an estimated cost of $69 million. The Defense Security Cooperation Agency delivered the required certification notifying Congress of this possible sale on July 3, 2014.

Hagel Notifies Egypt of Upcoming U.S. Certification

WASHINGTON, April 23, 2014 – Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel informed his Egyptian counterpart yesterday that Secretary of State John F. Kerry soon will certify to Congress that Egypt is sustaining the strategic relationship with the United States and is meeting its obligations under the 1979 Egypt-Israel Peace Treaty.

In a statement summarizing Hagel’S phone call to Egyptian Defense Minister Col. Gen. Sedki Sobhy, Pentagon Press Secretary Navy Rear Adm. John Kirby said these certifications are required to obligate fiscal year 2014 funds for assistance to the Egyptian government.

Egypt – Service Life Extension Program for F-110-GE-100 Engines

WASHINGTON, Dec. 18, 2009 – The Defense Security Cooperation Agency notified Congress Dec. 17 of a possible Foreign Military Sale to Egypt of modification and installation of part kits to upgrade 156 F-110-GE-100 engines through the Service Life Extension Program (SLEP) and associated parts, equipment, training and logistical support for a complete package worth approximately $750 million.

Egypt – Fast Missile Craft

WASHINGTON, Dec. 18, 2009 – The Defense Security Cooperation Agency notified Congress Dec. 17 of a possible Foreign Military Sale to Egypt of the Fast Missile Craft (FMC) program and associated parts, equipment, training and logistical support for a complete package worth approximately $240 million.
