Brunei – C-130J Aircraft

WASHINGTON, Oct 7, 2014 - The State Department has made a determination approving a possible Foreign Military Sale to Brunei for C-130J aircraft and associated equipment, parts, training and logistical support for an estimated cost of $343 million. The Defense Security Cooperation Agency delivered the required certification notifying Congress of this possible sale on October 6, 2014.

Hagel Meets with ASEAN Defense Ministers in Brunei

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Brunei, Aug. 28, 2013 – On the first day of Southeast Asia’s most important annual defense ministerial conference, Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel met here with his counterparts from the 10 nations that make up the Association of Southeast Asian Nations.

On the sidelines, the secretary also took time for bilateral talks on the region and broader topics with his counterparts from Japan, South Korea, Vietnam, Brunei, Burma and China.

Locklear Lauds Brunei for Promoting Regional Cooperation

WASHINGTON, Feb. 7, 2013 – The top U.S. commander in the Asia-Pacific visited Brunei to extend U.S. support to government and military leaders working to build closer multilateral cooperation across the region.

Brunei is expected to assume chairmanship of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations this summer.
