On Thursday, January 28, Ambassador Michael D. Kirby will attend a donation ceremony at the Serbian Red Cross warehouse in Zemun to mark the handover of a consignment of supplies to assist refugees and migrants in Serbia. The donation is the first of two, with a total value of approximately $665,000. This is a US Department of Defense donation carried out through EUCOM (US Military European Command) and the US Embassy.

The shipment consists of heaters, tents, mattresses and various other humanitarian items to help migrants, refugees and aid workers address the challenges posed by winter weather in Serbia. The Ambassador will be joined by Red Cross President Prof. Dr. Dragan Radovanovic and Secretary General Ms. Vesna Milenovic.

The donation reaffirms the US Government's committment to providing relief to those in need across the world and specifically helping the Government of Serbia respond to the current refugee and migrant crisis.

Journalists interested in covering the event should be at the Red Cross warehouse in Zemun, 74a Mozerova Street, no later than 11:00 a.m. on January 28.
