DSCA Participates in PSRW
(WASHINGTON, May 14, 2009) DSCA’s
personnel teamed up with the Humanitarian Demining Training Center from Fort
Leonard Wood, Mo to represent DSCA along with more than 100 other government
offices and agencies at the National Mall to celebrate Public Service
Recognition Week May 7-10.
HDTC’s vast collection of simulated
mines and explosives caught the attention of many of those passing by who also
learned about HDTC’s mission and equipment.
DSCA personnel were also on hand
explaining the multifaceted mission of DSCA and answering general questions.
Celebrated since 1985 during the first
Monday through Sunday in May, Public Service Recognition Week (PSRW) is
a time set aside to honor the men and women who serve our nation as federal,
state, county and local government employees and ensure that our government is
the best in the world.
Throughout the nation and around the
world, public employees use the week to educate citizens about the work that
they do and why they have chosen public service careers, as well as the many
ways government services make life better for all of us.
